To reset the Jeep Grand Cherokee check engine light, watch: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=jfaAyQg456w You will come into many issues with an engine. A gasket may be loose and that needs to be tightened up quickly. You can have oil leaks and those need to be fixed as soon as possible. A spark plug may pop off, causing engine trouble. A dire problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to car fires and the vehicle exploding. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be changed quickly Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles. The spark plugs need to be changed every 100,000 miles or so unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be changed every 30,000 miles or so.

To turn off the Jeep Grand Cherokee check engine light, turn the ignition switch to ON but don't start the vehicle. Press the gas pedal 3 times within 10 seconds and turn the ignition off. Wait 10 seconds and start the engine.

Have to disconnect negative battery cable for a minute. Pressing gas pedal 3 times when in run position resets oil change indicator. Will not reset engine light. Must remove negative battery cable for that. Battery is located in floor under front passenger seat.

BullSHIT! Nothing has worked, it has cost over $1200 and no professional is able to repair. So you share with us owners what is to be done.

To reset the check engine light - after having resolved the problem which it was indicating - requires an OBD reader connected to OBD port under the dash. On the reader there is normally a choice of deleting error messages.

Don't believe every thing you read on the net. Best thing to do is spend about $25 on a auto repair manual for your type Jeep.

Noreen, I don't know if you're still waiting on an answer here, but it might be your evaporative system integrity module (ESIM). Just replaced one on my 07 Grand Cherokee.
