To reset the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light in the 2016 Kia Sportage, make sure the pressure is what it should be in all four tires. You'll find the placard with this information on the door jamb. Once You're finished, engage the parking brake and turn the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. Locate the TPMS reset switch below the steering wheel and press it. Continue to hold until the light in the instrument cluster blinks three times. You'll need to wait a few minutes for signals from all four sensors to reach the ECU, which will turn the light off. If the light hasn't gone off, try driving it for at least 10 minutes at speeds over 30 miles per hour. If the light still hasn't been reset, attempt the process again or use an OBD-II scan tool to reset each sensor individually.
