To reset the maintenance light in the 2004 Toyota 4Runner, begin with the vehicle parked and all doors closed. Turn the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. If Your SUV is equipped with an ignition button, You'll need to press it twice, but don't touch the brake pedal like You would if You were starting the vehicle. Locate the ODOMOETER/TRIP button in the instrument cluster and press it repeatedly until TRIP A is showing. Turn the ignition to OFF or press the engine start button once. Press in the ODOMETER/TRIP button again. While it's still pressed in, turn the ignition to ON again (or press the engine start button twice). Keep pressing the button and "000000" should display letting You know the reset is finished. The light should now go off. Turn the ignition to OFF and start the engine to make sure the reset was saved.

To reset the maintenance light for the 2004 toyota 4runner, turn the ignition switch to the "on" position. Set the odometer/trip display to "odo" mode. Now turn the ignition switch to "off" position. Depress and hold the trip meter "reset" button while turning the ignition switch to the "on" position.
