The Mercedes collision prevention assist plus inoperative message happens when the system does not have enough power to run. This typically happens if the car has been off for a long time, or the battery has been replaced or gone dead. Once the car is up and running You simply need to drive around for about 30 minutes and it will go away. If it does not then You will need to take the car to a Mercedes dealer, as You will need to have the ECU flashed to reset it. This is unlikely to happen though, and if it does then You will be having other issues besides this one.
