The Mercedes fuel gauge should be regulated by a fuse as well as under dash wiring. To reset the gauge, locate the interior fuse box within the cabin. It should be stored below the passenger's side door. Make sure the vehicle is powered off. The box' lid will be diagramed with electrical plug assignments. Pull the fuse labeled "F5". It should read 15 amps. Replace the F5 plug and turn on the engine. Once the vehicle is powered on the fuel gauge will be reset. Alternatively, disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and try re-connecting to perform a reset of the gauge. Most Mercedes vehicles are equipped with premium fuel with an octane of 97 or higher. Higher octane levels are needed for proper firing, and high-end cars using more compression in the combustion chamber or employing a turbo-charged engine, often require premium gas.

To reset the Mercedes fuel gauge you will need to hold down the ODO button until you get into ODO mode, turn the ignition off, then continue to hold the ODO button.
William you resetting the miles for next oil change. People want the fuel pointer to show how much fuel in tank. Find the fuse take out check ok put in this might reset or could be dodgy censor or the float in the tank itself which is replaceable.
