MoSTSubaru vehicles offer a recalibration procedure for the throttle position sensor, so while this isn't quite a reset, it functionally supports essentially the same end results. This can be useful if Your Subaru vehicle has a very low idle or is even stalling out because of lack of RPMs. It might not be a universal fix for all Your issues, but it's worth trying. First, You'll need to get into Your Subaru and ensure all accessories are off. Turn the key to ON, and wait for 20 seconds. You'll hear relays kicking on, the fuel pump engaging, etc. Start Your car without touching the gas pedal, and then let it idle until the radiator fan engages. Turn off the car, and when You restart, You should be recalibrated.

To reset the Subaru throttle position sensor, you turn on the ignition without your foot on the brake, so the engine doesn't start. Press the accelerator on the floor for 15 seconds. Release the accelerator, then turn the car off and start the engine and drive.
