The anti-theft system of the Toyota Corolla works to disable the fuel injection and ignition of Your vehicle through the ECU if a security breach is detected. The car will crank but not start. To reset the anti-theft You will need to reprogRam the ECU. This is best accomplished by a mechanic. Alternatively, You can trouble shoot the immobilizer by checking the battery in Your fob for replacement and exaMINIng the driver's door lock cylinder for damage. Attempt a DIY reset by inserting the key in the ignition and turning to the "on" position, without cranking. Leave the key "on" for 10-15 minutes while the ECU reprogRams itself. Then turn the key to the "off" position. Try to start the vehicle. If the reset has been successful, the car will fire.

The unlock button on the remote key is used to deactivate the anti-theft system. Use the key to unlock the driver door, and then switch the ignition switch to the position on. If this does not work, exit the vehicle and roll all windows, then use the key to lock the door of the driver.
