To reset the "check engine" light on the Toyota RAV4 You will need an OOBDII scan tool. The light will not be eliminated without erasing the error codes or fixing the mechanical failure that caused it. Keep in mind it may be illuminated due to something as simple as a loose gas cap or obstructed fuel filler neck. Check this solution first. Locate the OBDII port to th4e left of the driver's steering wheel. Install the scanner by plugging into the port. Allow the tool to run a diagnostic test. Press "read". The tool will return the error codes causing the "check engine" light to illuminate. When prompted choose "erase". Your Rav4's warning light should go out.
