It can be disconcerting when Your car won't start because of the anti-theft system in Your Volkswagen. If You've used a non-sync'd smart key, You can see this behavior. Regardless of how it was triggered, here's what to do to reset the security system. Use Your remote key FOB and press the unlock button. Unlock the driver's side door using the key and switch the ignition to the ON position, but don't start the vehicle. If it's still triggered, roll up all the windows and exit the vehicle, then lock the driver's door with the key. Wait for around 15 minutes, and then unlock the driver's door, again, using the proper key. Start the engine within 15 seconds of opening the door, and it should work.

Temp fix is to disconnect the negative from the battery and use a wrench or something metal to touch the negative wire (NOT THE TERMINAL) to the positive wire/terminal. This should get you basic access to get it home. This resets each time the key is off so you will have to do this each time. Good luck
