The Chevy Malibu handles ok in the snow, but it is not really made for it. It has front-wheel drive, meaning you may or may not get stuck if the wrong set of wheels gets stuck. You will be fine in moderate snow, but I would not recommend you take the car into a major snow storm or drive it when there are more than 4 or 5 inches on the ground. If you have to drive it in the snow you should consider putting snow chains on it for more traction. Other than that have a roadside emergency kit in the truck in case things get bad.

I have a 2015 Chevy Malibu, this passed winter was my first with it, it handles very well in the snow. It does slide a little but bare in mind it had about 80k miles on 2 of the Good Year Assurance tires it came from the factory with and the other 2 tires were Goodyear Eagles with I'd estimate 60k miles on them. I've put Assurance tires on my previous car and they were the worst when it got wet, so it surprised me how well the Malibu did in with them, only really getting stuck in very deep snow where the care bottoms out. I will be putting on some Michelin Defenders for this winter as I have them on my wife's Impala and they were great, only spun again when the car was bottomed out in deep snow, even pure ice sheets it did very well on
