The Chevy Colorado can be a very reliable vehicle and there are many people who have gone over the 300,000 mile mark and are still going strong. There are even examples of it crossing the 400k mark but I wouldn't say that's extremely common. I think a big key to this is just the simple job of going through the regularly scheduled maintenance and not getting lazy about it. Use a synthetic oil and change it out with the filter every 7,000 miles or so and that alone will go a long way. Using a high mileage oil will help out in this regard as well. It can help to remove some of the built up oil sludge and keep things running smooth. -

As original owner of a 2006 GMC Canyon with a 3.5 engine and 374K miles I can say it is a very reliable truck. It has original engine and transmission. I have used only synthetic oil and replace it along with the filter every 5K miles. I have also replaced the transmission oil every 60K miles.

My 2006 colorado has 233465 miles and with the exception of using a quart of oil between oil changes it runs like new. I also noticed that the 5 cylinder trucks that are being sold as used all are 150-300,000miles. Compared to the 4-6cylider models that I've not seen over 125,000

If given regular maintenance you can expect your chevy colorado to last over 300,000 miles.

300k? If u actually use it as a truck, Not likely. And the motor will c**p out first, usually around 200k. GM used inferior gasket design/material for intake, valve covers, etc. (Dont get me started on 4.3 vortec) I've loved chevy since a kid, owned 200+ vehicles & turned wrenches on all of them. It would have to be a seriously good deal for me to buy any domestic anymore, I'm sad to say.

My 2006 Chevy Colorado 3.5 I5 auto has been a vary reliable truck. Just hit 300,000 miles. Owned since new and have never taken it to the shop. Replaced a couple hubs changed the tranny fluid once at 60k. Oil every 5 to 10k. It does use lots of oil. Cleaned the throttle body a few times. Changed spark plugs once. Thermostat once or twice and a clutch fan. Check engine lights been on a long time for the can above the spare tire.

I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado 4 cylinder I am currently at 395.000 Km, my next oil change will be at 400.000 Km, they are great trucks at least mine is. I’ve put mine through a lot of abuse even by not having it more than 2 years yet & when I say abuse I mean I’ve filled the box of the truck up with topsoil at least an inch from the top rail drove from St. Catharines to Welland & it was in the spring just after that winter break so most of it was frozen & wet so you could imagine how heavy that was on the truck, i run a lawn company pulled a 6x9 trailer had 2 yards of top soil in it a couple times, I’ll be hauling a 6.5 x 12 trailer this season. Part of me wished for a bigger truck but I bought the truck for 2k in cash with 363.000 km on it. Not bad ehh? Anyway yes I’ve worked on my truck multiple times but nothing serious. Tranny might go before anything else

My 2005 Chevy Colorado LS with the 3.5L I5, currently has 277k on the dash, original engine, and transmission. The biggest issue I have faced is the Evap leak, camshaft positioning sensor, and the throttle body needs to be cleaned. All of these do not affect the performance of the vehicle I only had them done to pass emissions. I do burn quite a bit of oil, every time I do an oil change the oil looks fresh, so I really only change the oil filter. Ultimately a great truck I take mine on trails, through mud, and driting in the snow and its treated me very very well.
