The lifespan of a Ford Focus is totally dependent on how well You are able to take care of it. If You take great care of it and do regular maintenance it can last anywhere froM200,000 miles to 400,000 miles or even longer. If You take not so great care of it maybe it will last 50,000 to 150,000 miles. By doing regular maintenance on the Focus one of the most essential things You can do is oil and filter changes every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. An oil change will help to keep the engine clean and running smoothly. Some other maintenance You should regularly do is replacing the engine air filter, changing fluids like the coolant and inspecting the cooling system and hoses.

My Focus is a 2003 Focus ZX3 2.3L PZEV, manual transmission. It has 240,000 miles on it now (October 2020).There were several repairs (alternator, starter, clutch, wheel bearings, motor mounts, brakes), but the engine itself had no problem.

Will a 2011 Ford Focus last as long as you'd hope? Say 280,000kilometres plus? I live in Australia and need to upgrade my current car and the Focus seems perfect but are the 2011 models still very good? Thanks heaps!

I have a 2001 focus sport. Theres only over 80,000 miles. I love that car so much, more than any other car I've owned. It rides good. Besides the yearly things you do to your car, nothing has broken. I want to get a new one. But she's my baby. But I can't wait to drive a newer one too.

I have a 2005 Ford Focus. Has 160,000 miles. Makes a lot of rattling noise as the dash and the heat shields have become loose. Did a major service at 120,000 (spark plugs, pullies, thermostat, water pump, engine mounts, suspension). All Other services were maintained like clock work, every 5000 miles. Mechanically the car is in a great shape, I'm hoping it lasts to at least 200k miles. No rust and the car drives smoothly.

Have a 2013 Ford Focus and it has 227,000 miles on it. Only major problem was the electric clutch was acting up at 122,000 miles felt like the transmission was going bad but transmission was fine just the clutch which was still under warranty. Rest was normal wear and tear stuff.

2007 Focus SE Hatchback, purchased at 20000, 68000 now and runs strong, full synthetic oil changes every 5000. Gas mileage still at 28mpg average summer and 21-23mpg winter. Only complaint I have is the airbox, wish it was a replaceable filter, otherwise I love the peppy little car!

My 2017 Focus ehas 94,000 miles, just had it valued at £4,900. Had one major fault, a few months out of warranty, the oil pump sheared it’s cogs off. Cost £1,800 to replace, mostly Labour as the pump is inside the oil tank and half the engine had to be removed to reach it. Got the water pump changed at the same time as that came in a set with the oil pump. It’s an ecoboost automatic, was looking to trade it in today but might keep it now a couple of years and see how long it lasts.
