Your Ford Escape has precisely two axles. No more, no less. You'll sometimes find a less honest repair place advertising a deal "per axle", but they count each wheel of an independent suspension as an "axle", which is wrong. Fixing an axle has a huge range of costs, depending on exactly what it is that's broken or needs to be replaced. Labor alone's going to typically run into a couple hundred dollars, and parts can easily hit a thousand dollars at the extreme end. Given this, as enticing as driving on the sidewalk may seem, You really don't want to risk breaking one of Your axles when You hit the curb!
