The 2017 GMC Acadia came standard with a 2.4L 4Cylinder motor but GMC also offered an upgrade option to a larger and more powerful 3.6L V6 engine. These models will both have an oil capacity of 6 US quarts when the filter is included. The difference in these engines will be the type of oil You need to use. The standard motor will need to use either 5W-20 or 0W-20. No matter which one You use it will need to be a synthetic oil. The upgraded V6 motor is going to need to run on 5W-30 unless You live in a freezing climate then it will be 0W-30.

All Acadia engines require the same amount of oil. This makes it easier to determine what you need for an oil change as you do not really need to know which engine you have.
