The 2021 Dodge Charger has a towing capacity only about 1,000 lbs and that is defined as the amount of weight that the vehicle can pull behind it. The towing capacity might seem really small especially for a vehicle with over 300hp but towing capacity isn't just about the horsepower. The towing capacity takes a lot of factors into account, such as the drivetrain, brakes, transmission cooling and brake max load. The Charger has a payload of anywhere from 914 to 1,145 lbs which is the amount of weight that it can carry inside of it. It has a torque between 260 to 707 lb-ft which is the amount of turning power that a car has. And it has a tongue weight of about 100 lbs which is the downward force that the tongue of the trailer puts on the hitch.
