The dodge charger r/t is the best daily driver out there!
It is an absolutely beautiful looking car. Rides very smooth. It is not as punchy as a scat pack, but nonetheless it packs plenty of punch when you gas it. Very nice back seat, amenities, and overall feel. I absolutely love it. I would highly recommend this car to other people.

Love my orange dodge charger with racing stripes!
My dodge charger is an awesome vehicle, very fast and reliable. I have not had any issues or problems but it is a new car. I love the sport feature and the air conditioned seats. It's also a remote start so no keys needed. It's also very roomy inside and it has a nice size touch screen, heated steering wheel and even has heated or air condition back seats. The large trunk is also a plus!

Fast, clean, convenient and sleek.
The 2020 dodge charger scat pack is really good in performance, very fun car. It does eat up fuel, so before purchase look at the fuel economy. The interior of the car is very clean and sleek. It is a 4 seater so if you roll with friends most of the time this car is very convenient.

2020 dodge charger - great ride.
Features are great: heated seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof, and leather seats. While it has great power and speed, this car is not reliable in heavy rain. Drive carefully so you do not hydroplane. It has a massive trunk which is great if you are taking road trips. The backup camera is crystal clear and alerts you if there is movement. Overall I love this car, and if I had to purchase again I would try the gt.

My 2020 dodge charger review.
Very comfortable and very fast. It has 8.4 inch display and a alpine stereo system. This car is amazing from the look to the feel. This car has 485 hp at 14 mpg in the city. Not too bad right? This car come with factory 20 inch wheels, that are sleek.

What Do Critics Say About the Dodge Charger?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2020 Dodge Charger is a brash and bold old-school large American sedan, with good owner satisfaction scores as it ages.
  • Edmunds rates the Dodge Charger at 4.7/5, enjoying the user-friendly infotainment system, but doesn’t like the relatively cheap interior fit and finish.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Charger a 4.6/5, praising the extremely strong engine choices, but owners don’t like that the fuel costs are very high for a sedan.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Dodge Charger Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Dodge Charger include the stereo system freezing, check engine lights, along with some excessive noise from the wheels. Overall, these problems are similar to other large sedans from the same year, leading to average repair costs as the Charger ages.

The stereo system freezing is the most widespread complaint from 2020 Charger owners, showing up within the first 2,500 miles. There are software updates which improve the reliability of the touchscreen. Most dealerships will install these updates for free, while others charge around $50 for labor.

Check engine lights are another problem mentioned by some Charger owners at around 10,000 miles. You will need to use an OBD-II scan tool to read the codes from the ECU to determine the source of the problem. Once you know what caused the light to turn on, fixing it can cost $30 to $500.

Excessive noise from the wheels also shows up on some 2020 Chargers at roughly 15,000 miles. The wheel bearings are a known weak spot in Charger models and have to be replaced. Changing out the wheel bearings costs around $400, depending on local labor rates.

There are two recalls on the 2020 Dodge Charger, which is similar to other sedans. The first recall covers windshield bonding, while the second is for the camera display. Dodge will fox both issues for free on affected models.

How Long Will the 2020 Dodge Charger Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Dodge Charger can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than other large sedans like the Toyota Avalon. Regular annual maintenance costs are slightly higher than average, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $602 per year.

As a used 2020 Charger reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history report, owners should be prepared to replace the fuel evaporative canister for $300, a power steering hose costing $400, along with the control arms, which cost around $700.

How Is the Technology?

The standard entertainment technology is very good and includes a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Optional upgrades include a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen along with a Harman Kardon sound system.

Standard safety technology is fairly basic, and only features a rearview camera and rear parking sensors.

Optional upgrades include:

  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rain-sensing windshield wipers
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist
  • Forward collision warning

Is the 2020 Dodge Charger a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Dodge Charger is a good value if you’re in the market for a spacious American sedan with strong engine choices. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $24,975 to $69,350, making it less than a Dodge Challenger or Chrysler 300. When new, the price range was $29,995 to $69,995. Depreciation is similar to other cars, losing about 6% of its current value per year.

What are the Different Models of the Dodge Charger?

What Engines Come In the Dodge Charger?

In the 2020 Dodge Charger, there are several engine options:

  • 3.6-liter V6 Engine: This base engine produces 292 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offers a combined fuel economy of around 23 MPG, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds.
  • 5.7-liter V8 Engine: The R/T trim features a 5.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 370 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft of torque. It also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offers a combined fuel economy of around 19 MPG, and can achieve 0 to 60 mph in about 5 seconds.
  • 6.4-liter V8 Engine: The Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat models are equipped with a 6.4-liter V8 engine producing 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft of torque. These models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offer a combined fuel economy of 18 MPG, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 4 seconds.
  • Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Engine: The range-topping Charger SRT Hellcat features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that cranks out a staggering 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft of torque. It also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, offers a combined fuel economy of around 15 MPG, and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

What Colors Does the Dodge Charger Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Dodge Charger?

The 2020 Dodge Charger is lauded for its comfortable interior, with consumers rating its comfort highly. The leather interior is described as very comfortable, making the car a pleasure to ride in, and the gadgets are easily accessible, which enhances the overall comfort and convenience of the vehicle.

One user specifically mentions “superb comfort” alongside the bonus of getting great gas mileage, suggesting that the Charger provides a pleasant driving experience without compromising on efficiency. The Charger Scatpack 392, with its 6.4L SRT engine, receives a perfect comfort rating of 5 out of 5 from a reviewer, highlighting that even the high-performance models do not sacrifice comfort.

However, there is a note of criticism regarding the interior materials in lower trims, with a mention of there being “a bit too much plastic and rubber,” which could detract from the overall premium feel of the car for some users.

Overall, the 2020 Dodge Charger strikes a balance between muscle-car aesthetics and the comfort expected of a modern sedan, with ample room and supportive seats across various trim levels, providing a comfortable ride for drivers and passengers alike.

How Much Storage Space Does the Dodge Charger Have?

The 2020 Dodge Charger offers a cargo space of 16.5 cubic feet in the trunk, which is a typical size for its class. This space should be adequate to fit several suitcases or golf bags, making it suitable for family trips or carrying large shopping loads. Additionally, the Charger features split-folding rear seats, providing the flexibility to transport larger items that may not fit in the trunk alone. However, it’s worth noting that the trunk’s high lift-over height and awkward angles could make it difficult to load some types of cargo.

For smaller items, the interior of the Charger includes a mini overhead console with storage and two 12V DC power outlets, as well as front and rear map lights. This allows for convenient storage of personal items like phones, wallets, and small bags within the driver’s and passengers’ reach. The car’s overall interior space is quite generous as well, offering 104.7 cubic feet of room, making it capable of comfortably seating up to five passengers with room to stretch out. The presence of a 60/40-split-folding rear seat further enhances cargo convenience.

VehicleHistory Image

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The seventh generation of the Dodge Charger was launched for the 2011 model year, and has had several updates since then.

2015: V8 models are only offered with rear-wheel drive, standard eight-speed automatic transmission, and the introduction of the high-horsepower Hellcat model.

2016: Interior materials have been improved on the SRT 392 and  Hellcat models, with optional appearance package upgrades as well.

2017: Upgraded 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen added, new active exhaust system, and the Hellcat comes with light-weight wheels.

2018: SXT models and higher now have a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, standard features adjusted on all models.

2019: Trim levels have their names changed, and upgraded interior cabin materials.

2020: Minor options package changes, and new widebody versions of the Hellcat and Scat Pack models.

2021: More powerful Hellcat Redeye added to the lineup with a 797 horsepower engine.

How Does the Dodge Charger Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Dodge Charger is a good full size sedan since it offers a lot of passenger room, and a fun driving experience with its strong V8 engine choices.

The Dodge Challenger is another car offered by Dodge, which costs about $1,500 more. Steering and handling are both better in the Dodge Challenger, while the Dodge Charger offers more passenger room. We recommend the Dodge Challenger if you want a sportier experience, while the Charger is better if you need the extra space.

The Chrysler 300 is a popular full size sedan which costs about $2,000 more. Interior materials are more luxurious in the Chrysler 300, while the Dodge Charger offers more powerful engine choices. We recommend the Chrysler 300 since it’s a better daily driver, although both are worth testing out to see which you prefer.

Why you should grab a scatpack!
I love my scat pack, it is not only about the beautiful color or the inside or how fast it is( even though all of that is a major plus) it is very reliable, very smooth, comes with an air pump in case. Would 100% recommend, you will not be disappointed.

Best large sedan - with just enough power.
I do love my charger. I knew I wanted a bigger sedan with just enough power for me and this was the perfect fit. The interior is one of my favorite parts. I did splurge on the leather and suede seats. Plus everyone who gets in the back seat is pleasantly surprised when they find out they have seat heaters too. The backup camera and sensors are wonderful.

Nice comfortable beautiful car.
Its a amazing car. It has heated seats in front and back seats. Has ventilated seats in both front seats. Sound system sounds great. I recently bought this vehicle in June 2020 and it has continued to be a very reliable car, I have had no problems with it and I use it every single day. The comfort is amazing, very nice comfortable seats as well as all the adjustments one can do.

Very well made engine. Fast.
Cheaply made interior. Door panels and dashboard made from cheap materials. Dashboard cracks in the sunlight and heats up too much. Door panels come loose. Seats could be made from a better material. Really paying for the engine with the car. The high end and lower end models are all basically the same on the interior.

There really hasn't been that many issues with it for me. The only thing is that my trim level comes with paddle shifters and when I switch it to that mode there’s not really an indicator to tell me when to shift gears. Which the dodge charger srt and the dodge charger scat pack have an indicator to tell the user when to shift gears.

Would I recommend...HELL YES!!! I've had my 2020 Dodge Charger for 6 weeks.I have NEVER in my life been able to get estimated fuel mileage. My Gray Ghost ? Easily gets 30 mpg interstate, 21+ mpg city & 27+ mpg rural hwy. I drive over 500 miles a week for work. She handles & rides like a dream. Sorry MOPAR she does not corner quite as well as the Mazda 3 I had, leans a little, but I happily surrender a couple of mph on the curves for the comfort & power of the V6.The reviews bash the interior, they really need to look at cars now a days, they are all mostly plastic in this price range. The 2012 Mazda lost all markings on knobs in 6 months. Roomy & comfortable, all 3 big dogs sleep comfortably in the back seat, there is plenty of room in the trunk for 300 lbs of butchered pig with plenty of room to spare ?. She has ground clearance, enough so nothing gets torn up when running over opposums or racoons at 90 mph. Plenty of leg room front & back for adults, you know, people over 5'5" LOL.My 1st backup camera, nope I couldn't be a fighter pilot, still watching mirrors & outside while trying to watch camera - too much to process for an old woman ?. I do NOT get insurance discounts for my driving, cars are meant to enjoy 1st & foremost! She stops on a dime & gives you 9¢ change from 80 mph to oh c**p there's an 18 wheeler sitting in the middle of my lane on a blind corner & a car coming in the other lane. She "dances" from side to side maintaining lane while jamming to the stereo, motorcycle riders will understand that statement. Everytime I get to work I'm smiling from the pleasure of driving this car & I sit in her a few minutes before getting out when I get home ???. She's perfect for me ❣️❣️❣️

This car is an amazing car, very powerful engine and it is also very spacious.
