A Ford Escape hybrid battery can cost as much aS6,000 dollars, though they can also be a lot cheaper. The issue is that the battery will be different depending on when You try to get one. That said batteries in the car will last as long aS8 years, which means the car will be 8 years old when You need a new one. If You can get a cheap battery then go for it. If the battery is looking closer to the high end then You can consider getting a new car instead. A used car could be as cheap as 12,000 which will last much longer than the old car with a new battery.

That price is incorrect. As a repair shop that does hybrids MY COST on the Ford Escape hybrid battery was $9800 at two different dealers. That's just the battery, no labor.
