The amount of oil that is needed in the 2000 Toyota Camry iS3.8 quarts with a filter for the 2.2 L 4Cylinder and 5 quarts with a filter for the 3.0 L V6 engine. The type of oil that is used in the car is SAE 5W-30 for the 2.2 L 4Cylinder and also for the 3.0 L V6 engine. For some reason the engine in the Camry tends to form sludge and because of that the oil should be changed sooner than recommended. Normally the oil would be changed every 5,000 miles but because of the sludge issues it should be changed sooner. The cost of an oil change in the car is between $40 and $50 in labor costs. It is pretty easy to change the oil and can be done in about 5 to 15 minutes. The tools needed are 14mm socket, ratchet, socket extensions, torque wrench, drain pan, jack and jack stands.
