The 2001 Kia Sportage has a 2.0 L 4Cylinder engine that needS4.4 quarts of oil with a filter. The recommended F-TYPEor the best performance iS-10W-40 Synthetic and the torque for the drain plug is 26 ft/lbs. 10W-40 means that 10 is the viscosity or the thickness of the oil at startup, w is for winter and 40 is the thickness or the viscosity at operating speeds. You should change the oil and the filter every 7,500 miles or so because it doesn't last forever. The cost of a change is between $40 and $50 in labor costs and extra for parts. Or if You want to do it Yourself, some of the tools needed are a drain pan, funnel, socket and socket extensions.
