The 2008 Ford Expedition useS7 quarts of SAE 5W-20 oil to fill the entire oil pan and the filter. Ford recommends that You use full synthetic oil as well when You need to do an oil change. There are two different types of oil that are common, synthetic and conventional. Synthetic is made of chemicals in a laboratory and conventional is made of petroleum mined out of the ground. Synthetic oil will last much longer and provide better protection than conventional. On average You will need to change Your oil every 7,500 miles using synthetic, or every 3,500 to 5,000 miles using conventional. I recommend that You check Your oil every time that You get gas to make sure that it is full.

The 2008 Ford Expedition oil capacity is 6.6 liters (7.0 US Quarts). Is it recommended not to drive the vehicle if the transmission fluid level is in the add range or does not show at all on the dipstick.
