The oil capacity for the 2012 Hyundai Sonata depends on the engine size. For the 2.0 L 4Cylinder it has a capacity of 4.9 quarts with a filter and the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine iS4.8 quarts with a filter. The recommended F-TYPEor the best performance iS5W-30 Synthetic for the 2.0 L 4Cylinder and 5W-20 Synthetic for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder engine. Both versions have a torque between 25 to 32 ft/lbs for the drain plug. Oil is really important because it will help to keep the engine clean and running. It doesn't last forever though, so You should change the oil and the filter every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or so. It only takes about 5 to 15 minutes to change them.
