An entire new timing belt kit including a new water pump for a 2005 Honda CR-V will cost between $110 and $150 in parts costs. If You're going to take it in to a shop instead of doing the job Yourself the labor costs will be between $300 and $600. This will give You a total parts and labor cost that ranges between $400 and $700. The timing belts are going to need to be replaced on these vehicles between every 80,000 and 100,000 miles so while it will be annoying having to have this replaced it's likely You'll only need to have it done once over the life time of Your vehicle.

A 2005 honda cr-v has a timing chain instead of a timing belt. Replacement parts should run about $100 while labor costs will be between $300 and $350.

The 2005 CRV has a timing chain instead of a timing belt. It will probably never need replacing. Our 2006 CRV went 400,000 miles with the original timing chain and water pump. The only reason it's out of service is because it got hit from behind and totaled!
