The Chevy Colorado'S3.6 liter 6-cylinder engine is equipped with A6-speed automatic transmission that useS6.3 pints of Dexron ViATF fluid. A tranny flush and filter change is needed every 30,000-50,000 miles. The fluid levels should be checked when the transmission reaches 120 degrees. Position a drain pan underneath the vehicle and transmission. Remove the tranny drain plug with a 15 mm socket and as the engine runs, allow the fluid to drain. Darker/blacker fluids indicate the need to flush and replace. Make sure the vehicle is level for accurate draining. Release the cover/pan bolts to access the filter housing. With the engine switched off, remove bolts securing the fill plug. Use a funnel to refill.
How do you replace the transmission once fluid is drained?

The 2016 chevy colorado transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. Any fluid leaks for this type of transmission should be treated by a mechanic.
