Position a drain pan underneath the vehicle and transmission. Remove the tranny drain plug with a 15 mm socket and as the engine runs, allow the fluid to drain. Darker/blacker fluids indicate the need to flush and replace. Make sure the vehicle is level for accurate draining. Release the cover/pan bolts to access the filter housing.
