After changing the power steering fluid in Your Chevy Silverado the last thing that You need to do is bleed the system. This is important to get all the air out of the lines since it is a hydraulic system and air can prevent it from working. To bleed the power steering pump all You need to do is open the bleed valve on the side of it. Place a bucket beneath it to catch any fluid. Then You will want to turn the engine on and turn Your steering wheel all the way to the left, all the way to the right, and do that several times. This pumps fluid through Your vehicle's pump and lines. Once You have done that several times close the bleed valve and top off the fluid if it's needed.

To bleed a chevy silverado power steering pump, you will slightly crack open the bleed valve. Turn the steering wheel lock to lock several times. Top off the power steering fluid once there is no more air in. Turn the steering wheel a couple more times and check the level of fluid once again before driving.
