If You have a bad thermostat on a 2013 Chevy Malibu then the easiest way to fix the problem is to completely replace the thermostat. Usually the firSTSign that You have a bad thermostat is if the heater is not working and is failing to heat up Your car. This usually means that the thermostat is stuck closed and not letting warm coolant head to the heater core. To change a thermostat You will need to go to the upper radiator hose and follow it until You get to the housing. After that You can pry off the thermostat housing cover and then unscrew the thermostat from the two bolts that hold it in place. When You put in Your new thermostat just do the same thing in reverse.
