It's relatively simple to change the power steering fluid in a Ford Ranger, and should take you no longer than an hour including set up and clean up. You'll need to head under the truck to drain the power steering system by removing the low pressure line and letting it bleed out into a catch pan. You'll need a pair of channel locks, and perhaps a bit of elbow grease if your fittings are particularly corroded. Once drained, you'll head to the power steering reservoir to fill the system. Pour slowly, ensuring that your lines don't become air locked. Alternatively, it's possible to complete the entire process by using a turkey baster (or similar) to siphon out of the reservoir, but this is not recommended as it's not nearly as thorough a change.

To flush the power steering fluid on a ford ranger you will need to locate the drain plug on the bottom of the power steering reservoir, drain the fluid, and then refill the reservoir from the top.
