The 2014 Ford Fusion's key fob or transmitter battery can be changed by separating the back and front sides of the fob. Release the metal key and locate a small notch at the sides the plastic panels. Pop open with a flathead screwdriver to open. Remove the back of the fob to reveal a panel equipped with a round CR2025. Leverage off with a coin or flathead screwdriver to replace the 3-volt battery. The 3-volt CR2025 can be purchased from any general retailer and is the same type of battery used in watches and mechanical devices. Install the new part with the positive side facing up and repeat opening steps in reverse order to close the remote and snap its key back into place.

In order to change the battery in a ford fusion key fob, you must begin by using a thin screwdriver or wedge to pry off the back of the key. Then use the same tool to remove the battery, and replace it with a new cr2302 battery, and snap the back cover back on.
