To replace the thermostat on a Ford Transit You will need an 8mm socket, T-25 TorxBit, Flat Blade screw driver and a rachet. If You open the hood and look between the radiator in the engine, below and to the left of the dipstick You can see the thermostat housing. It is a tight area to work around, so You need to remove the intercooler to get it out of Your way. Take the two T-25 TorxBolts out of the intercooler cover and remove it. Loosen the two upper radiator hose clamps and pull them from the collars. Disconnect the electrical connection on the left side and remove the four 10mm bolts on the intercooler bracket. Move the intercooler out of Your way and remove the three 8mm bolts that holds the thermostat housing to the engine. Once You pull the housing out, You can remove the thermostat form inside of the housing and install a new one.

You need to drain your coolant and remove the intake piping then remove the upper radiator hose on the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing .Put it all back together.
