The thermostat is bolted to the radiator on the 2012 Chevy Cruze. It is held in place by two metal bolts and will come off pretty easily. Once You have pulled it off You can simply bolt as a new one back in place. There is a wire running from it to the ECU, but this is just a plug and play wire, so it won't be an issue to connect. A new thermostat will cost You about 100 dollars, so not too expensive. If You have a shop do this it will be 50 more dollars, but this is so easy there is no need to have someone else do it.

To change the thermostat you will need to drain your coolant in a 2012 chevy cruze first off. The drain nozzle is located at the bottom of the radiator, below the passenger headlight. Remove the thermostat housing from the upper radiator hose. Un-do the two torx bolts from the thermostat housing holding the hard pipe feed. Screw off the 4 main bolts attaching the thermostat housing to the engine block followed by the two sensor clips. Un-screw, and replace the thermostat.
