The 2011 Chevy Traverse has a filter for the transmission that is located in the actual transmission oil pan on the bottom of the vehicle. You will need to drain all of the fluid out of the transmission then remove this pan to access the filter. Replacing the fitler is usually done whenever You have a full transmission inspection because it is a difficult thing to get to. Usually this is done about every 100,000 miles. If You check Your transmission fluid and notice that it is metallic or reflective that is a good sign that You need to have a transmission service done with a filter replacement.
I tried to buy the filter and advance auto told me it needs to be done by professional

The only way to change the filter on these transmissions 6T75 (1HAK) is to drop the transmission and disassemble it. Ask me how I know. It is NOT accessible with an oil pan that doesn’t exist.
