Checking the transmission fluid levels in the 2014 Ford Fusion is pretty simple. Just open the hood and locate the transmission dipstick. Pull it out and look at the oil level indicated on the long part of the dipstick. You should be able to gauge how much oil is in the transmission, by seeing what point it marks the stick. Don't forget to put the dipstick back in its hole, as soon as You have checked the level. Other than the level, You can also tell if the fluid needs to be replaced or not, by the shade of darkness it has taken. Transmission fluid changes usually cost around $150 on average. Though they are not as frequently done as engine oil changes, they need to be done at the recommended intervals for Your vehicle.

There is no dip stick for new models (your 2014 model) because it's a closed transmission.

This car does not have a transmission dipstick unlike all of the other answers indicate. To check the fluid level on 2013-newer fusions, you will need a metric socket set, ratchet, extension, and a jack. Run the car to normal operating temperature. Park the car on a level surface. Jack the front driverside tire off the ground and remove the tire. CAREFULLY lower the car back down to its level ride hieght. You should be able to see the transmission level plug to the left of where the CV axle goes into the transmission. Remove the plug. If the tranmission fluid runs out, there was too much fluid in the transmission. Let it run out until it stops and then it is at the appropriate level. If there is no fluid coming out, open the hood, remove the transmission cap, and add transmission fluid until fluid starts coming out of the tramission level plug hole. Once it stops coming out, it is at the correct level. Now you just have to put the plug back in and jack the car back up to put the tire back on.

In order to check the transmission fluid on a 2014 ford fusion, first warm the engine up, then remove the transmission dipstick to ensure proper level.

There is no dipstick on these transmissions. It has a level fill boot on the side of the case by the driver sidecv axle. Its a 14mm and should obly be checked after warm, in PARK, and on a level surface

Open the hood, and locate the dipstick. Pull it out and look at the level of the oil on the stick.
