I'm going to assume You've either already got a replacement bumper for Your Chevrolet Traverse, or You're takeng the bumper off for artistic or political reasons. Let's begin. First, jack Your Chevy up and take off the back wheels. This'll give You some additional room to work, which if You're anything like me, You're gonna need that elbow room. Then You'll want to take off the wheel arches, so You can access the side bumper brackets. Let's go ahead and pop the trunk now. Inside, You'll remove the side brackets , and then the lower bindings underneath the Traverse. Now's also a good time to disconnect the license plate light and reverse radar sensors. Unscrew the top brackets from the trunk. At this point, there's nothing holding Your bumper on: If it hasn't fallen unceremoniously on Your feet at this point, go ahead and gently pull it off.
