This is a bit of a low tech solution to dealing with the alarm on the Honda CR-V, but it should work, if You're really truly keen on not having the anti-theft system engaged. Pop Your hood and find Your battery in the engine compartment. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery and then close the hood. Manually lock the door and close it, and voila, You've locked Your Honda without the alarm having been activated. An alternative to a car alarm, especially if You're away for many hours each day, is a dog that's the best puppy in the whole world (Yes he is! He's such a good boy!) with You, but has no patience for strangers at all. If You're working from home due to the pandemic, hiding in the bushes with a baseball bat is a method some drivers have found an effective theft deterrent system as well.
