There are two different ways that You can open the trunk in a Ford Focus from the outside of the vehicle. The first way that You can do it is press the release button that is located on the trunk. This button can be found under the bottom of the trim on the trunk. The other way that You can open the trunk in a Focus is to press and hold the trunk release button that is on the key fob. Either of these ways will release the latch and allow You to open it. The trunk in this car does not have an actuated system so it must be opened and closed manually.

The ford focus has a trunk release button hidden in the trim, close to where the license plate is. You may have to run your hand under the trim to locate the release button. The only other way to open the trunk from the outside is to use the button on the key fob.
My trunk wont open. No fobs, the button wont work. Makes no noise when pushing the button. The key hole in the trunk isnt working. Does nothing.no buttons on the seat top. The seats wont come down. The release cables are in the trunk I need help.

If you need to enter the trunk of your 2012 Ford Focus but have a dead battery, first manually unlock your car doors. You will then have to access your back seat to hit the release buttons on the top exterior corners to fold down the back seats. This is the only way I know of to access your trunk with a dead battery if your focus does not have a trap keyhole or manual trunk release that isn’t battery operated.
