To open the gas tank on a BMW 7 Series You will need to first unlock the vehicle. Once it is unlocked You can go around to the fuel tank door and press in on it and then it will spring open. Once You have the door open You can then remove the fuel cap that is on it. When You put the cap back on You will need to turn it until You hear it click once and then You can close the door. Many vehicles are moving away from a fuel door button or lever in favor of just a system where You push in on the door to open it up.

There is a button on the BMW 7 Series near the gas tank and there will be one in the vehicle near the console dash, either will open the gas tank.
2 weeks ago I purchase a new 740i, today I went to fill it up for the second time and the gas tank "door" does not open, I try everything with bmw customer support in the line, nothing worked. Rodside assistance is on its way to eaither try to open it or town the car. 100k car should not be so hard to open a simple gas tank door /cover or whatever 🤬

My 2023 7 series door is locked for No reason! Supreme disappointment. I can’t put gas in my friggin car!!!!
