To open the hood of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, locate the release lever in the cabin. It is installed on the driver's side of the vehicle to the left of the steering wheel. Look under the dash panel to find a black release lever printed with a picture of a raised hood. Pull it toward You to pop the hood latch open. Move to the front of the vehicle. Underneath the center of the lid, depress a black latch lever to lift. Once open You may prop the engine bay's cover up using the enclosed strut. Keep in mind older vehicles often need the latch lubricated to stay functional and provide a swift opening.

To open the hood on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, pull the hood release lever on the driver side of the instrument panel, then, pull the hood latch on the front part of the hood and pull up.
