The oil life indicator illuminates in Your 2011 Nissan Sentra to let You know it's time to schedule a maintenance appointment. This will need to be reset after the oil has been replaced. It's a simple task that takes only a few minutes and doesn't require any tools. Turn the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. Press and hold the Select/Reset button for around 10 seconds. The oil life and maintenance codes will blink. Release the button. Press and hold it again for five more seconds. The code should disappear and the oil life should be at 100% now. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to make sure the reset has been saved and that the light remains off.
