To reset the oil service light in a 2011 Subaru Outback, begin sitting in the driver's seat with all doors closed. Turn the key in the ignition to RUN, which is the ON position just before actually starting the engine. Locate the INFO button in the cluster of controls on the lower left portion of Your steering wheel. Press the INFO button and the SETTING option should appear. Scroll through the options until You find MAINTENANCE. Select SET. When You see ENGINE OIL, select SET again. Scroll to the UPDATE option and select SET again. The engine oil life should reset to 100 percent. Turn off the ignition and then start the vehicle to make sure the reset has been saved.
