If You don't replace it, there will be issues with the engine. Having high quality oil is important for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with this fluid at some point. Old or bad oil can cause the engine to stop working. A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. You could experience bad gas mileage. Knocking noise may show up from the engine.
To perform an oil reset on the 2015 maserati ghibli you need to turn it on, but do not start the engine. Find the reset button on the console dash and hold it. When the light blinks and stops turn the vehicle off and wait 5 min. Your oil is now reset.

You need a scan tool, and if you don't want to spend the big bucks on the obdstar pro., the Autel MaxiAP AP200 OBD2 Scanner will reset the overdue maintenance light on a 2016 ghibli for around 55 bucks. I know for a fact it works on the 2016, and i'm going to say it will work on most years because the software has them listed in a menu.
