The 2016 Subaru Outback has a built in feature that lets alerts You when it is time to change the oil and filter. It does this through a simple counter that gives an alert at a certain date or when You reach a certain mileage. To make sure this alert is accurate You must remember to set it whenever You change the oil. First You need to turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. Then You have to press the CAR INFO button on the Navigation/Multimedia system and then click the menu option that says Maintenance. Scroll to the Engine Oil option and select the Date or Distance You want to be alerted at and set that option. After that You just need to close the menu and You are all done.
