If You have a new key for Your Dodge Caravan and want to progRam it there are two main ways. The first way is allow the dealer to progRam it using a special tool. The second way is a do it Yourself method You can follow here. First You need to open the driver's door and press the lock button five times in a row on the door. Next place Your new key into the ignition and turn it one click. Next press the unlock button and panic button on the remote You are progRamming until You hear a chime. Now You can press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time and release them. After that press the unlock button and release it fast and You will hear one last chime confirming the key has been progRammed.

Nothing worked for me. I found it impossible to press the panic button while it is inserted in the ignition.

To program the Dodge Caravan key, you open the driver's side door of your Caravan and press the "Lock" button five times in a row with two seconds of space between each time. Insert the Caravan key into the ignition and turn it one click until you hear the ignition of the chime indicating the key. Press the "Unlock" button on the remote program and hold it down for 5 to 10 seconds. Click the "Unlock" and "Lock" keys and activate them at the same moment, within 30 seconds of the chime, on the remote you are programming. Click the "Unlock" button and open it easily. Once again, you can hear a chime that ensures that the programming has been effective.
Does anyone know if this procedure really works? I've read that you require two programmed keys to be able to program a new one, and if you have only one programed key you need a programming device.
Had success on my 2006 Caravan with this. 1. With your working key in the ignition, turn to ON position but do not start. 2. On the working fob, press the UNLOCK button for 4 seconds. 3. While continuing to hold the UNLOCK button, press and release the PANIC button within the next 6 seconds. Check engine light flashes. 4 On the un-programmed fob, press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time within 30 seconds and release. New fob is programmed. Other fobs may be programmed in the same 30 second interval by pressing LOCK and UNLOCK on those fobs as well.

Something I found it recent and grand caravans, starting from 2008 caravan and going up, it can't be programmed unless with two working keys or a dealership. I have spend an hour figuring out how to make it work, but it was unsuccessful.
On the 2003-2007 Caravan (and most Chrysler products in that year range), if you have only one functional key now, you cannot get the vehicle to recognize a second key without a special system access tool and the PIN code for that particular chassis number. It is not possible to extract the PIN from the BCM or ECM; it must be ontained from a Dodge or Chrysler dealer's factory data access system. If yoiu have two functional keys that will both start the vehicle, then this is the procedure: 1. Insert the first functional key into the switch and turn the key to the Run position BUT DO NOT START THE CAR. 2. Turn the ignition off, remove the first key, insert the second key and turn it to the Run position BUT DO NOT START THE CAR. 3. Watch the instrument cluster lights. After a few seconds, a red light off to one side will begin to flash, and a single chime will sound. 4. Turn the ignition off, and remove the second functional key. Insert the NEW key in the ignition and turn it to the Run position BUT DO NOT START THE CAR. The flashing light should be back. After a few seconds, if the key is capable of being programmed to the vehicle, the flashing light will go out and a chime will sound. Turn the key to the OFF position, and then try to start the car with it. If the car starts and then immediately dies, either you have a bad key, or the number of keys already in the BCM's memory is eight, and it can't accept any new ones until the old ones are erased - and you don't want to do that without access to the tool that will allow using the vehicle PIN to get the system into new key setup mode afterwards. I have one of the diagnostic tablets that can access the interface in the BCM to input the PIN and erase and program new keys directly. No, I won't do yours. I'm retired, and I don't have access to the PIN lookups. I will also note that d**n near all of the keys for these on eBay are junk.

Do you guys realis, that when you insert the key fob. I can't press the panic and unlock button at the same time.
To all you folks that say you can't push the panic button please re-read the instructions. It says to put the KEY in the ignition, not to FOB. You hold the fob in your hand and have the metal key in the ignition.
