The 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the option of part time and full time 4WD. To shift to part time low 4WD You will need to be almoSTStopped and in neutral. Pull the transfer case lever toward You in a hard and fast motion. The part time setting is advised for driving on steeper roads and/or slippery (to a fault) conditions. Full time is suggested on normal, more levELRoadways such as driving on the freeway or through residential neighborhoods. Part time low 4WD is considered an off-road setting and not particularly good for dry roads or roads that are too slippery as the torque is much higher and traction is less. Your tires are far more likely to spin when using this setting.
