To increase cargo space in the Toyota Corolla hatchback from 17.3 cubic feet to 23.3 cubic feet, fold the rear seats down. This is not true for the S and base models. They are not equipped with rear folding seats, but all other trims/models are. Remember to remove anything stored on the back seats, including child safety boosters. Locate the release lever for each seat and pull. Open the trunk of the Corolla and access the release levers here. The levers will be black and inscribed with a white "seat" symbol. Pull for each seat one at a time and push forward. This creates enough room for hauling long objects in the trunk and into the cabin.
