You need to add more Freon to the system. There is an intake port on the underside of the hood. You will have directions on the recharge kit You buy. Follows these and You will be good to go.

To recharge the A / C in the Dodge Nitro, the hood will need to be lifted and the prop it up. Locate the air conditioning control port on the tube passing between the compressor and the evaporator. Screw the R-134a hose to the end of the same type of refrigerant canister. Run the motor and switch the air conditioner to its full level. Test the gage attached to the hose. Slowly switch the valve on the hose to an open location, paying close attention to the indicator. Enable the needle to travel until it's within the green portion of the dial.
