To remote start the Ford Escape press the lock button and then the "start" button on the fob two times. The Escape's exterior lights should flash twice and the engine should fire. If the remote fails to engage, check for adequate fuel levels and confirm the key fob's battery is working. If it's dead or weak, the push button and remote start will be disabled. A blown fuse can be responsible for ignition failure as well. Fuses housed under the hood in the engine bay might need replacing. If the engine will not fire, consider a failing fuel pump, faulty electrical connections, starter and/or battery, and have the Escape serviced by a professional.
