To remove the cigarette lighter socket in Your Ford F-150 You will need a Phillips head screwdriver. There will be a screw in the back shell of the socket and You will need to reach behind the cigarette lighter to remove the screw. Once You have the screw out and the socket is loose You can pull it out and unplug the wiring harness that it is attached to. One thing to make sure is that there is no power going to the cigarette lighter because it can potentially be dangerous if You stick a metal object into the socket which can electrocute You and also damage the cigarette lighter. You can purchase a new cigarette lighter connector from the local auto-parts store for approximately $20 which will come with an accessory to install it as well.
