If You need to replace a brake light bulb in a Toyota RAV4 You will first need to go into the cargo compartment at the rear of the vehicle. In the back of the cargo compartment You will be able to find two panels that can be removed near the brake lights. If You remove these panels You will be able to access the bulbs in the housings. From there You can rotate the bulbs 1/4 of a turn and remove them from the housing. After that You can remove the wiring from the back of the bulbs. Once the bulbs are out You can replace them with new bulbs and the system should work again.

To replace the brake light bulb on a toyota rav 4 open the rear lift gate and remove the two bolts that hold the taillight assembly to the rear quarter panel. The brake light is in the upper bulb socket of the assembly. Turn the socket counterclockwise and pull it out of the back of the assembly.
