Many model years of the Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and Super Duty F-550 trucks share similar driver complaints of the roof molding becoming unattached, and thereby necessitating replacement. This is because they were held in place by two studs with a touch of glue underneath. They're prone to falling off, so replacement instructions are often necessary. Luckily the process is relatively simple, and shouldn't take more than an hour or two and some basic hand tools. You'll need a 1/4" hand ratchet, a T50 socket, a flathead screwdriver, and some duct tape. Remove the step panel, door trim, and seatbelt. Then, remove the rear side panel behind the seatbelt mounting point, and the trim panel on the affected side. This will give you access to the interior nuts that hold the molding in place. As soon as it gets warm I’ll be ripping the cheap China s**t Ford used off the truck and having my Commercial Roofer hard seal it for life. Also, be looking for other short cuts Ford took because this is the best truck I’ve ever owned. Everything has issues these days just sad Ford stepped in it to.

My roof trim broke off near the back window , I have a 2018 Diesel King Ranch with the Premium 6 year warranty . They are trying to tell me the warranty doesn’t cover the trim , no recall yet .

The parts can be ordered from the manufacturer or third-party supplier and painted the appropriate color once snapped into place.
