You will not need to replace the cabin air filter in a 2005 Ford Explorer because it does not have one. This means that there is a filter in place to keep debris from getting into the HVAC system on Your vehicle but it's not going to be enough to keep things like pollen and pollutants out of the Explorer's cabin. Ford started including these filters starting with the 2011 but for the earlier models it's not something You'll have to worry about. -
