The 2006 Ford Explorer rear heater core is located under the hood near the engine. It is simple enough to remove, but You need to do it in order. First, You will need to look for the hoses connected to this. You will want to unclamp them, and then let them drain out. Now You can unbolt the heater core. It is held by two bolts and one screw. Once You have done this is will lift right out. Then put a new one in, and reattach the hoses. You may need to put more coolant in, depending on how much drains out of the car. This will be easy, as You can just dump it in, You won't need to flush the coolant.

I don't know what kind of vehicle you are looking at but that is not how to replace the heater core on an explorer. The heater core is located between the firewall and the dashboard, the entire dash has to be removed in order to get to the heater core. It's an 8 hour job if you have done it before.
